Potential energy at the maximum height = initial kinetic energy

 =  \frac{1}{2} {mv}^{2}

  = \frac{1}{2}  \times 0.20 \times 20 \times 20 = 40J.

Given:

Mass = 200g or 0.2kg

u = 20ms^-1

Formula:

As, h is not given so, we have to find h first by the formula, u = √2gh

Solution:

u = √2gh

20 = √2 × 10 × h

20 = √20 × h

400 = 20 × h

h = 20

Now,

U = mgh

= 0.20 × 10 × 20

= 40J Ans
