a ball projected vertically upwards from a point p at the top of a building , reaches the ground in x seconds . if it is projected vertically downwards from p with the same velocity it reaches the ground in y seconds . if it falls freely from p the time taken by it to reach the ground is ??

a body is projected vertically downwards from A,

h = ut1 + 0.5gt1^2 ….............................(1)

it is projected upwards with same velocity

h = ut2 – 0.5gt2^2........................(2)

time it will reach the ground if it is dropped from A

h = 0 + 0.5gt^2..............................(3)

solve the three eqns. and get t in terms of t1 and t2
