a) The time to reach the highest point is 4 sec

b) The speed of the ball upon arrival on the ground is 40 m/s

Explanation:

When the ball is thrown vertically upward ; then the maximum height attained by the ball is

H = U² /2g

H = 80 m

80 = U² / 2 x 10

u² = 80 x 2 x 10 = 1600 m/s

u = 40 m/s

time of ascent = u /g

= 40 /10 = 4 sec

a) The time to reach the highest point is 4 sec

b) The speed of the ball upon arrival on the ground is 40 m/s

Answer:

Hi...

I hope this will help u..

H=u²/2g

80 =u²/2g

u = 40 m/s

Time of ascent = u/g

= 40/10

=4s
