The initial velocity of the projectile, u = 19.799 m/s

The time of flight of projectile to reach 20 m is, t = 2.02 s

Explanation:

Given data,

The maximum height of the projectile, h = 20 m

`The maximum height of the projectile thrown vertically upwards is given by the formula,

                                  h = u²/2g

∴                                 u = √(2hg)

                                      = √(2 x 20 x 9.8)

                                      = 19.799 m/s

The initial velocity of the projectile, u = 19.799 m/s

The time of flight to reach 20 m height,

                                    t = u / g

                                      = 19.799 / 9.8

                                      = 2.02 s

Hence, the time of flight of projectile to reach 20 m is, t = 2.02 s
