Given :   A balloon artist creates balloon hats for children at a store’s grand opening. Graph showing the number of balloons the artist has remaining, y, after creating x hats. (0. 500)  , (50, 250)  , (100, 0).

To find : relationship between the number of balloons remaining and the number of hats created

Solution:

The x-axis shows Number of Balloon Hats

The y-axis shows Number of Balloon Remaining

y  = mx  + c

x = 0   , y  =500

=> 500 = 0 + c

=> c = 500

=> y  = mx  + 500

x = 100  , y = 0

=>0 = 100m + 500

=> m = - 5

=> y = -5x  + 500

lets check

x = 50 , y = 250

=> 250 = -250 + 500

=> 250 = 250  Verifed

5 Balloons are  required to create a Hat

Number of Balloon remaining =  500  - 5 ( Hat Created)
