A balloon is rising up with an acceleration of 20 m/s2. A body is dropped from the
balloon when its velocity is 500 m/s. What are the values of velocity and accelera-
tion of the body at the instant it is dropped ?

A balloon is rising up with the acceleration of 20m/s and velocity of 500m/s and a body is drop from it find the acceleration and velocity at instant drop.

at instant drop,

velocity of balloon = velocity of body.

given, velocity of balloon at instant drop is 500m/s

so, velocity of body at that instant of time will be 500m/s.

as body is dropped under gravity. so, acceleration acting on body = acceleration due to gravity = -g = -9.8m/s²

hence, acceleration acting on body at that instant is Acceleration due to gravity i.e., -9.8 m/s² [ negative sign indicates acceleration acting downward direction ]
