let initial mass of balloon = m, final mass of balloon = M, volume = V, density of air = d and downward acceleration = a.
therefore (mg - Vdg = ma) and (Mg - Vdg = -ma). subtracting we get,
(m - M)g = 2ma => m - M = 2m*(a/g)
therefore (mg - Vdg = ma) and (Mg - Vdg = -ma). subtracting we get,
(m - M)g = 2ma => m - M = 2m*(a/g)
