a) Barium Chloride solution is mixed with copper sulphate solution
and a white precipitate is observede
b) On heating Copper powder in air in a china dish, the surface of
coppers powder turns black
c) On heating green coloured ferrous sulphate crystals, reddish brown
solid is left and a smell of gas having odour of burning sulphur is
experienced
d) Iron nails when let dipped in blue copper sulphate solution become
brownish in colour of copper sulphate fades away.

  1. Barium Chloride reacts with copper sulphate and forms Barium sulphate and copper chloride .
  2. copper reacts with oxygen present in air due to the effect of heat and forms copper oxide which is black in colour
  3. ferrous sulphate reacts with oxygen present in the air and forms Sulphur dioxide and Oxygen gas and Iron
  4. if iron reacts with copper sulphate and forms iron sulphate and Copper
  5. calcium oxide + water gives calcium hydroxide .
