Given :

Distance (D) = 60 feet

Time (T) = 0.5 seconds

To Find :

Speed of the baseball

Solution :

The distance travelled by a body in unit time is called its speed.

    Speed (S)  =  \frac{Distance (D)}{Time (T)}

We are required to find the speed of a baseball which takes 0.5 second to cover a distance of 60 feet.

∴ Speed of the baseball  =  \frac{60}{0.5}

                                         = 120 ft/sec

Therefore, the speed of the baseball is found to be 120 ft/sec.
