A batter hits a ball and it is caught 4 seconds later 100 m from home plate. What is the initial velocity (vector!!!) of the ball? (Note: the ball is hit and caught at the same distance from the ground.

we know that s= ut + ½at²

now, s=100m

u= 0ms-¹

t= 4s

so 100= 0×4+ ½a (4)²

or, 0+ 8a= 100

or, a= 100÷8

or, a= 12.5

now, v= u+ at

so v= 0 + 12.5× 4

or, v= 50
