a battery is made up of 5 voltage cells in series. each cell has an open circuit emf of 1.6 V and an internal resistance of 0.08 ohm. what is the battery terminal voltage for a load of 6 ohm

Effective voltage E = 5(1.6) = 8 V

Effective internal resistance r = 5(0.08) = 0.4 Ω

Current in the circuit

I = E / R+r

I = 8 / 6 + 0.4

I = 8 / 6.4

I = 5/4 A

Terminal voltage

V = I R

V = 5X6 / 4

V = 7.5 volt
