Here is your solution

Given:-

a battery whose emf is 40V has an internal resistance of 5ohm

Now,

The total circuit resistance is 20 Ohms (5 + 15)

Your EMF of 40V will cause 2 Amps to flow through the circuit.

2 Amps through the 15 Ohm resistor will develop 30 volts across it.

Answer - 30 Volts.
