A bed room is 12m long, 10 wide and 8m high. Find the sum of the areas of its floor and four walls.

b=10m

h=8m

area of four walls +area of floor

csa of cuboid + area of rectangle

2(l+b)*h+(l*b)

=2(10+12)*8+(12*10)

=2*22*8+(120)

=44*8+120

=472m square

Given :

Length = 12 m

Breadth = 10 m

Height = 8 m

To find :

CSA of 4 walls ( cuboid ) + Area of the floor ( rectangle )

Solution :

CSA of cuboid =  2 ( l + b ) h sq . units

                         = 2 ( 12 + 10 ) 8

                         = 352 cm^2

Area of rectangle = l * b sq . units

                              = 12 * 10

                              = 120 cm^2

Total area = 352 + 120

                 = 472 cm^2
