B joined for 8 months

Solution:

Let B join after "x" months

A began a business with rs 85,000

He was joined afterwards by b with 42,500

Profit ratio = 3 : 1

Then we can say,

\frac{85000 \times 12 }{42500 \times x} =\frac{3}{1}\\\\x = \frac{85000 \times 12 }{42500 \times 3 }\\\\x = 8

Thus B joined for 8 months
