since a = 1-√7/1+√7 on conjucating we get

a= 1-√7 / 1+√7 x 1+√7 / 1+√7

a= (1+√7)^2 / (1+√7)(1-√7)

a= 1 + 7 -2√7 / 1-7 = 6 - 2√7/6

a= 2 (3-√7) / 6 = 3 - √7 /3

doing the same on b we get b = 3 - √7 / 3

now substituting a and be on a^2 + ab + b^2 / a^2 - ab + b^2 we get

= 41/23
