A bike of mass 80 kg is travelling at 20 m/s. It hits a car of mass 0.2 tons which is stationary. The two join together and move as one object, what is the velocity as they move off together?

Explanation:

because it is plastic collision the Two Joining together Nd no Bounce Back of BIKE ( total mass 80;Kg)

For any collision occurring in an isolated system, momentum is conserved. The total amount of momentum of the collection of objects in the system is the same before the collision as after the collision.

system Velocity = 80x 20 ÷ combined Mass

= 16oo/ 280 = 5.71 m sec^-1
