A block of mass 1kg is pushed against a rough vertical wall with a force of 20N , coefficient of static friction being 1/4 . Another horizontal force of 10N is applied on the block in a direction parallel to the wall. With what acceleration will the block move?

In the first situation, that is when force of 20 N is applied, Then coefficient and N = 0.25 x 20 = 5 N.

When force is applied in the downward direction that is 10 N. The friction case in this type is limited.

When 10 N forces are applied on the horizontal direction, it would remain stationary.
