Required solution :

Here we've been given with a block whose mass is of 2kg and is placed on a frictionless table (There won't be any friction force acting in backward direction).

  • Mass of block = 2kg

Now, that given block is pulled by a force. After force is applied that block is displaced 10m and tooked 2 seconds.

  • Time (t) = 2s
  • Displacement (S) = 10m

So here we would be applying second equation of motion inorder to find out the acceleration (a).

2nd Equation of motion :-

  • S = ut + ½ at²

Where,

  • S is displacement
  • u is initial velocity
  • a is acceleration
  • t is time taken.

Applying all the given values :-

➛ 10 = 0 × 2 + ½ × (2)²

➛ 10 = 0 + ½ × a × (2)²

➛ 10 = ½ × a × (2)²

➛ 10 = ½ × a × (2 × 2)

➛ 10 = ½ × a × 4

➛ 10 × 2 = a × 4

➛ a × 4 = 20

➛ a = 20 / 4

➛ a = 10 / 2

➛ a = 5 / 1

➛ a = 5m/s²

As we know that,

  • F = ma

Here,

  • F is force
  • a is acceleration
  • m is mass of the object

Applying the values :-

➛ F = 2 × 5

➛ F = 10 N
