To Find :

The frictional force applied on the block .

Solution :

Maximum value of static friction is given by :

f_s=\mu_s (mg)\\\\f_s=0.5\times 2\times 10\\\\f_s=10\ N

We know , if force applied is less than maximum value of static friction than the value friction force is equal to the force applied .

Therefore , frictional force applied on the block is 10 N .
