From the free body diagrams we will get the component along horizontal direction and the vertical direction and if the tension in the string is T then we will get
2Tcosθ = W or the weight of the body.
Hence, T = W/2cosθ.
So if the θ increases then cosθ will decrease and θ increase as tension increases thus the maximum tension will be when θ is maximum.
