Answer

  • Maximum Pressure is 0.07 Pascal
  • Minimum Pressure is 0.3 Pascal

Exolanation

Given

  • Dimensions of the wood = 25 cm by 15 cm by 5 cm
  • Weight = 25 N

To Find

  • Minimum and maximum pressure

Solution

[Minimum Pressure is when the least area is on the floor so it will be when the sides 15 cm & 5 cm are there, a d the least pressure when 25 cm and 15 cm are there]

Minimum Pressure

➝ Pressure = Force/Area

So we have to find the area,

➝ Area = Length × Breadth

  • Length = 25 cm
  • Breadth = 15 cm

➝ Area = 25 × 15

➝ Area = 375 cm²

So then the Pressure will be,

➝ Pressure = Force/Area

  • Force = 25 N
  • Area = 375 cm²

➝ Pressure = 25/375

➝ Minimum Pressure = 0.07 Pascal

Maximum Pressure

Here as well we shall first find the area of the figure touching the floor

➝ Area = Length × Breadth

  • Length = 15 cm
  • Breadth = 5 cm

➝ Area = 15 × 5

➝ Area = 75 cm²

So then the pressure will be,

➝ Pressure = Force/Area

➝ Pressure = 25/75

➝ Maximum Pressure = 0.3 Pascal
