A block raised to height 4m from ground and falls down 3m, what is its KE if mass of the block is 100 kg. (g = 10m/s^2)

Answer:

when it is raised to 4 m

it's potential energy is mgh = 4000 J

at that time , total mechanical energy is also the same bcz as k.E is zero at that instant !!

as we know Total mechanical energy is conversed throughout the motion

when the ball falls down 3 m

it's potential energy is mgh = 1000 j ( 1 m above the ground )

so K.E is = total mechanical energy - potential energy

KE = 4000- 1000 = 3000 J
