A boat goes 24 km upstream and 28 km down stream in 6 hrs . It goes 30 km upstream and 21 km downstream in 6 h 30m. Find the speed of boat in still water.Also find the speed of current.

let x = speed of boat in still water and y = speed of stream
speed upstream = x - y and speed downstream = x + y, hence
24 / x - y + 28 / x +y = 6 and 30 / x -y + 21 / x + y = 6.5
let 1 /x - y = m and 1 / x + y = n
24m + 28 n = 6 and 30 m + 21n = 6.5
solving we get x + y = 14 and x- y = 6 so x = 10 and y = 4
