speed in still water be x km/hr and be speed in current be y km/hr
upstream= x-y and downstream = x+y km/hr
speed = distance/time
time= distance/speed
t1= 16/x-y + 24/x+y = 6
and t2 = 36/x-y + 48/x+y = 13
now as this is a simultaneous equation
solve it
