Example: A person completes one revolution in circular path. Whereas displacement is zero as source and destination is same. Hence A body can have zero average velocity but not zero average speed.

Average speed = total distance traveled ÷ time

And distance can not be zero, so average speed won't be equal to zero

Average velocity = displacement÷ time

As displacement can be zero so, average velocity can be zero

Example- a body moving in circular motion, after one complete Rotation, distance = 2πr , but displacement= 0
