Average speed => total distance/total time
To find time:-
Time (T1) = distance/velocity
Let "d" be the distance and "v1" be the velocity.
T1 = d/v1
:- time for next journey is
T2 = d/v2
Total time => T1 +T2
Total time => d (1/v1 +1/v2)
Total time => d(v1 +v2/v1 v2)
Total distance =>d +d => 2d
Average speed = 2d(v1 v2)/d(v1+ v2)
Average speed => 2(v1 v2)/(v1 + v2).
