when an object is immersed  in a liquid, it experiences an upward force. This upward force is called as Buoyant Force or Upthrust.
It is due to this upward force, the weight of object appears to be less in liquid than its actual weight.
Factors affecting the Upthrust are:
1. Volume of object immersed in liquid --- as volume increases the upward force increases.
2. Density of liquid:
As the density of liquid increases the upward force exerted also increases
