sand 1 mm. The retardation of the body in sand
is :

2as = v² - u²

2×9.8×1000 = v²

9800×2 = v²

v = √19600 = 140 mm/s

2as = v² - u²

2×a×1 = 0 - 19600

2a = -19600

a = -9800mm/s

Acceleration = -9.8m/s
