Given :

  • Initial Velocity = 20 m/s
  • Acceleration = 0.2 m/s²
  • Time = 5 seconds

To Find :

  • Final Velocity = ?

Solution :

By using first equation of motion we get :

  • v = u + at

[ Where, v is the final velocity , u is the initial velocity, t is the time and a is the acceleration of the body ]

Substituting the given values in above formula we get :

→ v = u + at

→ v = 20 + 0.2 × 5

→ v = 20 + 1

→ v = 21 m/s

  • Hence, the final velocity of the body is 21 m/s.

More knowledge

  • First equation of motion is valid when the object is moving with constant acceleration. This equation gives relation between velocity and time.

Three kinematical equations of motion :

  • v = u + at
  • s = ut + ½at²
  • - = 2as
