Given:-

  • Mass of body = 60kg

  • Acceleration due to gravity =10m/s²

To Find:-

  • Weight of object on earth.

  • Weight of body on moon.

Solution :-

By using this formula

➦ Weight = mass × acceleration

➭ weight = 60×10

➭ weight= 600N.

∴ The weight of body on the earth is 600N.

and Now,

We know that,

The acceleration on the moon is 1/6 the acceleration on the earth .

∴ The acceleration on moon =1/6×10= 5/3m/s²

➦Weight = mass × acceleration

➭ Weight = 60× 5/3

➭ weight = 20×5

➭ weight = 100N

∴ The weight of body on the moon is 100N

Answer:

Earth : 600 Newtons, 60 kgf

Moon: 10 Newtons, 1 Kgf

Explanation:

Given :

  • Mass of the body = 60 kg

To find :

  • Weight of the body on earth and moon in kgf and Newtons

Weight on earth = mass × 10

Weight on earth = 60×10

Weight on earth = 600 Newtons

Weight on earth in kgf = 60 kgf

Moon:

Weight on moon = 1/6×60 = 10 Newtons

Weight on moon in kgf = 10/10 = 1 kgf

The weight of the body on earth in newtons is 600 and in kgf is 60 kgf whereas weight of moon in newtons is 10 Newtons and in kgf is 1 kgf
