A body initially at rest , starts moving with a constant acceleration 2 mps square . calculate a) the velocity acquired b) the distance travelled in 5s.

Assuming you want the velocity after 5s, it will be 2*5=10m/s
The distance will be 1/2at², as the body was initially at rest
Therefore the distance covered will be 1/2*2*5²
Cancelling 1/2 and 2, we get the distance as 5² which is equal 25m

Using the eq. of motion ( s=ut+1/2at^2) S=0.5+1/2.2.(5)^2 where u is the initial velocity,s is the distance travelled,a is the acceleration and t is the time taken. Solving: S=0+25 Therefore distance travelled is 25 m. You can verify this by placing s= 25 .
