here g is +ve because the motion is downward and

so using 2nd equation of motion
v^2 - u^2 = 2gs ( here in this case s is height)
20^2 - 0^2 = 2( 9.8) (s) g is acceleration due to
gravity and its value is 9.8m/s^2
400 - 0 = 19.6 (s)
400 / 19.6 = s
s = 20.4 m
