Answer:

Velocity of projected body is -12.5m/s

Explanation:

Given that,

One body is dropped from a height if 45m and other body is projected vertically downward after 1 sec

Both bodies reach ground in same time.

The time taken by dropped body to reach ground is

t =    \sqrt{\frac{2h}{g} }  =  \sqrt{ \frac{2 \times 45}{10} }  = 3sec

Therefore,time taken by projected body to reach ground is

3 - 1 = 2sec

Using the equation of motion for downward projected body,we get

h = ut -  \frac{1}{2} gt {}^{2}  \\  =  > -  45 = u(2) - 5(2 {}^{2} ) \\  =  > u =  - 12.5ms {}^{ - 1}

Negative sign indicates velocity is in downward direction.

Therefore,velocity of projected body is -12.5m/s
