When a body is moving on a curved path with a constant speed...It's Acceleration must be perpendicular to the direction of motion which is called radial acceleration or centripetal acceleration.

Clearly condition is saying that path followed us centripetal so, in relation with curve path there must be acceleration called centripetal acceleration.

This acceleration happens when ever the force is towards the centre of the circular path.
