since it's not getting influenced by any external body and freely falling while going upward it will have a deceleration of -g =9.8m/s^2 and while coming down it will be g =9.8m/s^2

mariya99: please elaborate ur answer
starock20kamalrock: a freely falling body has no external force except the gravitational force so when its going the gravitational force act downards on the body and produces a negative acc of -9.8 where as while coming downwards the body moves in the direction of force producing a positive acc of 9.8
mariya99: thanks a lot ☺☺
