The acceleration will be opposed to gravity because the body is going upward

if the particle is thrown vertically upwards then at highest point velocity is zero so the acceleration acting on a body at highest point will be equal to g. = acc. due to gravity.

this is becuz when body is going up its net acc. at an instant is = g-a but at highest point equal to zero then net acceleration equal to g
