EXPLANATION.

  • GIVEN

Body is thrown vertically upwards and rises

to a heights of 10 m.

To find velocity of the body was thrown

upwards.

GIVEN = [ g = 9.8 m/s² ]

According to the question,

maximum height = h = 10 m

At maximum height v = 0

initial velocity = u

Acceleration = a = -g = -9. 8 m/s²

From Newton third equation of

kinematics.

=> v² = u² + 2as

=> (0) ² = u² + 2 ( -9. 8 ) ( 10)

=> u² = 196

=> u = √196

=> u = 14 m/s

Therefore,

Velocity of the ball thrown upwards

=> 14 m/s
