Hope it helps
v=u+gt
t=(v-u) /g

Hey Mate! Here's ur answer.
When we throw an object vertically upwards, The initial velocity.(u) = x & when it gains the maximum height suppose H = xy, the final velocity.(v) = y.
So when it has reached the max. height it has to travel the same dist. (xy) again. So, when coming downwards the initial velocity.(u) = x & the final velocity.(v) = y. ( Remember the time taken to attain the max. height & to come down will always be same)
Hence, proved that time of return of body will be inversely proportional to acc. due to gravity.
