Answer :-

Given

• Distance traveled in first 6 sec = 84 m

• Distance traveled in Next 5 sec = 180 m

Now from

S = ut + 1/2 ×at²

For first 6 sec

→84 = u(6) + 1/2× a ×6²

→84 = 6u + 18a

→ 14 = u + 3a ...(i)

For next 5 sec

Time = 6 + 5

= 11 sec

Distance = 84 + 180

= 264 m

Then

→ 264 = u(11) + 1/2 × a × 11²

→ 264 = 11u + 121/2 × a

→ 24 = u + 11/2 × a

→ 24 = u + 5.5 a ...(ii)

Now from (ii) - (i)

24 = u + 5.5 a

-(14 = u + 3a)

____________________

10 = 2.5 a

Or

a = 10 ÷ 2.5

a = 4 m/s²

Now from (i)

→14 = u + 3a

→ 14 = u + 12

→ 2 = u

or initial velocity = 2 m/s

So

(a) Initial Velocity = 2 m/s

(b) Acceleration = 4 m/s²
