u=12m/s

f=0.6N

we know that

f=ma

then

0.6=0.25*a

a=-2.5m/s2 since negative vector

applying a,v,u,a in 1st equation of motion

v=u+at

0=12-2.5t

-12/-2.5=t

t=4.8s
