  • We can see here Tension in the string balances weight(mg) of mass to keep it in equilibrium.

\implies\rm T = mg = 0.5\times 9.8 = 4.9\: N

  • Both tension and mg are action reaction forces exerted by mass and string respectively.
  • 0.5 kg exerts mg force on string = Action
  • string exerts tension force on 0.5 kg = Reaction

Solution:

Force exerted by body on string = mg

  • mg = 4.9 N

2. The String on the body

Force exerted by string on the body = T
