Answer:-

Given:-

Mass of a body (m) = 20 kg

Force applied (F) = 50 N

Time (t) = 2 s

Final Velocity (v) = 0 m/s [ body is brought to rest ]

We know that,

Force = m * a [ a is the acceleration of the body ]

Acceleration = (v - u) / t

[ u is the Initial velocity of the body ]

→ a = (0 - u) / 2

→ a = ( - u) / 2 m/s².

Hence,

→ 50 N = 20 * ( - u) / 2

→ 50 = - 10u

→ 50 / - 10 = u

→ u = - 5 m/s

Therefore, the initial Velocity of the body is - 5 m/s.
