Given :

  • Mass of a body = 20 kg.
  • Force = 100 N.
  • Distance = 50m.
  • Velocity = 8 m/s.

To find :

  • Friction = ?

Solution :

To find the friction = ?

◈ First, we have to find the acceleration of the object.

◈ To find the acceleration of the object, we will use the equation of motion.

V² = u² + 2as.

Put the values in the formula.

➡ a = v²/2s

➡ a = 8×8/2×50

➡ a = 16/25 m/s².

Acceleration of the object is 16/25 m/s².

Now,

To find the frictional force = ?

We will use the formula,

Fnet = ma

➡ 100 - f = 20 × 16/25

➡ 100 - f = 64/5

➡ f = 500-64/5

➡ f = 436/5

➡ f = 87.5 N.

Hence :

  • The friction force is 87.5 Newton.
  • The friction force is 87.5 Newton.The acceleration of the object is 16/25 m/s².
