100 Joules is the potential energy and 100 Joules is the Kinetic Energy, with v = 10m/s

Explanation:

  • Potential energy is the energy an object contains due to its position relative to other objects, voltages within itself, its electrical charge, or other factors
  • The kinetic energy of an object is the energy it possesses due to its motion.

Because of Law of conservation of energy, the total potential  energy at the beginning will be the sum of potential and kinetic energy at the end.

Finding Potential Energy at the beginning:

Given

Mass = 2kg

Height =1 0m

Formula

Potential energy= mgh

where g= 10m/s

Substitute the values of mgh in the equation

Therefore

p= 2×10×10

=200Joules

Potential Energy at 5m height :

2 x 5 x 10 =100 JoulesSo kinetic Energy= (200-100) joules= 100 Joules

Kinetic Energy(K.E) = 1/2 x M x V x V = 100 J

So, V= 10 m/s
