Momentum = mass × Velocity

Momentum of the body is :

2 × 10 = 20

20Kgms⁻¹
Momentum of the body that collides with it :

2 × 5 = 10

10Kgms⁻¹

Total momentum before collision = 10 + 20 = 30

= 30Kgms⁻¹

By law of conservation of momentum :

Initial momentum = final momentum.

The final momentum is thus 30Kgms⁻¹
