Answer :

Mass of body = 3kg

Initial velocity = 10m/s

We have to find, Maximum height reached by object and time taken by body to come back on the surface of earth.

For a body thrown vertically up with initial velocity u,

◈ Max. height reached, h = u²/2g

◈ Total time of flight, T = 2u/g

➳ H = u²/2g

➳ H = (10)²/(2×10)

➳ H = 100/20

H = 5m ..... (Answer : 1)

⇒ T = 2u/g

⇒ T = (2×10)/10

⇒ T = 20/10

T = 2s ..... (Answer : 2)

Answer:

Given :-

  • mass of body = 3kg
  • intial velocity ( u ) = 10 m/sec
  • final velocity ( v ) = 0 at maximum height

To Find

  • maximum height = ?
  • total time = ?

Solution

1) using equation of motion

V2 = U2 - 2as

0 = ( 10 )^2 + 2*( - 10 ) *h

100 = 2*10*h

h = 5 m

2) using equation of motion

V = U + at

0 = 10 - 10*t

t = 1 sec for going maximum height

Total time = 1 + 1 = 2
