to directly answer your questionany amount of force greater than 0 in a particular direction will move an object. by Newton's second law f=ma force is the mass and acceleration, and solving for accleration a=f/m so many amount of force causes an accleration .

first initial velocity = 5m/s
first final velocity =0
acceleration = final velocity - initial velocity/time
=0-5/1
=-5
second initial velocity = 0
second final velocity = 2m/s
and 2-0/1
=2
total acceleration = -5+2=-3
Force = mass × acceleration
= 4×-3 N
=-12 N
