Given:

Mass = 4 kg

Inclined plane rising 1 in 40

Velocity = 40 m /s

Efficiency = 50 %

To find:

The power.

Solution:

Here,

sin θ = 1 / 40

As the plane rises 1 in 40

To find force,

Force = Mass * gravity * sin θ

Substituting,

We get,

Force = 4 * 10 * 1/ 40

Force = 1 N

To find power,

Power = Force * velocity

Substituting,

1 * 40 = 40 kg m / s^3

Efficiency = Power input / Power output

50 / 100 = Power input / 40

Power input = 20 kg m / s^3

Hence, The power required is 20 kg m / s^3
