Given:-

  • Mass,m = 5 kg

  • Height,h = 20 m

  • Acceleration due to gravity,g = 9.8 m/s²

To be calculated:-

Calculate the work done?

Formula used:-

Work done = m × g × h

Solution:-

In this case, Work is being done against gravity .Now, Formula will use for calculating the work done against gravity :

Work done = m × g × h

★ Substituting the values in the above formula,we get:

Work done = 5 × 9.8 × 20

= 5 × 98/10 × 20

= 5 × 98 × 2

= 10 × 98

= 980 Joules

Thus,the work done is 980 joules.

Answer:

Given:

  • A body of mass 5 kg is lifted through a height of 20 m.

Find:

  • Calculate the work done.

Using formula:

{\sf{\underline{\boxed{\orange{\sf{Work \: done = Mass \times Gravity \times Height}}}}}}

Note:

  • The value of gravity is 9.8 m/s².

Calculations:

\longrightarrow\bold{Work \: done = 5 \times 9.8 \times 20}

\longrightarrow\bold{Work \: done = 49 \times 20}

\longrightarrow{\sf{\underline{\boxed{\red{\sf{Work \: done = 980 \: J }}}}}}

Therefore, work done is 980 Joule.
