Answer:

Distance traveled in 10 seconds = 1 metre

Explanation:

Given :

A body of mass 500 g is at rest on a frictionless surface.

When the body is acted upon by a force of 10^{-2}N,

then find distance traveled by the body in 10 seconds .

Solution :

We know that,

Force = Mass × Acceleration ( F = ma )

Force (F) = 10^{-2}N = 0.01 N

Mass (m) = 500 g = 0.5 kg

⇒ F = ma

0.01 = 0.5a

\frac{0.01}{0.5} = a ⇒ a = 0.02 m/s²

We also knew that,

Distance traveled (s) = ut + ¹/₂ at²   (here , s meant distance travelled)

here u = 0 m/s

t = 10 seconds.

a = 0.02 m/s²

s = ut +\frac{1}{2} at^2

s = 0 \times 10 +\frac{1}{2} \times 0.02 \times (10)^2

s = 0 + 0.01 \times 100 = 1 m
